Making a Fan Trailer with Generative Video

Power Rangers, AI, and KLING 2.0

Hi friends,

I recently got my hands on KLING 2.0, the newest AI video model from Kling AI, and decided to put it to the test by creating a gritty Power Rangers fan trailer. The results are surprisingly cinematic—and a bit addictive.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how I pulled it off.

Step 1: Text-to-Video Magic

After logging into my Kling account, I headed straight to the new text-to-video tool under “Kling 2.0 Master.” My first prompt was simple but bold:

“Epic Red Ranger scene”

Kling delivered. It wasn’t official Power Rangers IP, of course, but it definitely had the essence—and that was enough to kickstart the creative process.

Step 2: Image-to-Video with MidJourney Assets

To level up the visuals, I created a few character images in MidJourney, then fed them into Kling’s image-to-video feature. The output was decent, but everything still looked a little too CGI. That’s when I remembered one of my favorite tricks: negative prompting.

The Power of Negative Prompts

I added a few key terms to push the realism further:

  • blur

  • bad quality

  • fast movements

  • unnatural movements

  • CGI animation

Boom. The difference was immediate. Suddenly, characters were breathing, their stances shifted naturally, and the whole scene had weight. It felt alive.

Post-Production Polish

Once all the shots were ready, I brought them into my editing workflow:

  • Added film grain

  • Did some heavy color correction

  • Identified missing shots (hello, Megazord!)

  • Back to MidJourney for new images

  • Fed those into Kling for the final few sequences

It took time (Kling does bake slowly), but the result felt like a legit trailer—and I couldn’t be more hyped about what this tool is capable of.

Final Thoughts

KLING 2.0 isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a giant leap forward for AI video generation. I can’t wait to see what others create with it.

If you're experimenting with Kling or other AI tools in your creative process, I’d love to hear about it.

Until next time—
Be well, do good, and make awesome things.
